Esmeralda Decaf, my newest Mexican decaf, is a perfect example of what I love about modern decaffeination. The concept of a Natural (Honey) Process Decaf was once an impossibility, but thanks to the delicate nature of Mountain Water Process, I am able to bring you this flavorful and complex coffee, with the sought-after characteristics of a Natural Process bean, without the caffeine you don’t want!

Delicate and aromatic, but distinctively chocolatey, with brown sugar, toasty walnut, and delightful grapefruit peel bittersweetness. I roast it Light Medium to bring out the warmth of cacao nib and walnut, while preserving nuanced aromas and flavors. An inviting cup of coffee whether drank as a single-origin, blended into a half-caff, or as 1/3 of my signature Midnight Moose decaf blend!

The vast majority of decaffeinated coffee around the world travels hundreds or thousands of miles to be processed. We are proud to offer this incredible coffee, produced and processed all within the Mexican state of Veracruz, by our favorite natural Decaffeination experts, Descamex. Their patented process utilizes mineral water from Pico de Orizaba, the highest volcano in North America, to decaffeinate the beans to 99.9%, with nothing more added than green coffee extract.
