NEW DAWN Espresso Blend - Collab with Nät Vazer
Black Rose x Nät Vazer Collab Espresso Blend
Nayarit Terruño Reserva 2:1 Ecuador Morona Santiago
Tasting Notes: Roasted Nuts - Lamington - Lemon Pavlova
Created with our friends, Melbourne Indie Rockers, Nät Vazer, this blend celebrates of the release of their new single, ”New Dawn”: https://youtu.be/WEKYb80S7lY?si=dSCD9S3ZHxUOydYY
A classic espresso blend (two parts light roast to one part dark) is bright like the first rays of the sunrise, and strong like the energy we need to start off a good day.
Two of my favorite coffees work perfectly here:
Nayarit, a nutty light roast that brings the sunshine, is the coffee grown nearest to Seguaro Cactus, featured prominently in the music video for “New Dawn.”
Ecuador, my new flagship caffeinated dark-medium coffee, is chocolatey and aromatic, smooth and inviting!. As we share this blend with you, it represents a new dawn for this relatively-unknown coffee-producing region.
The flavors meld together into an aromatic and flavorful brew, with roasted nuts up front and solid chocolate body. The finish is round, smooth, and sweet. But how do we make that…Australian? I gave the band my list of flavors and asked them to process the information into classic desserts from Down Under. It didn’t take long!
Lamington: an iconic Australian dessert. Sponge cake filled with jam and dipped in chocolate.
Lemon Pavlova: A simple yet complex mix of meringue, toasted nuts, and lemon zest. A dessert invented in Australia and a fixture at events to this day, often made in an extra lemony variation.
The Story of Our Collaboration:
We met in June of 2024 when our friends in Mr. Boy opened for Nät Vazer at The Fixin’ To in N Portland. Meeting for coffee the next day, we established our joint love for coffee, travel, and live music. Flash forward to September of 2025, Nät Vazer reached out with the challenge of building a blend to complement their new single. Following the secret YouTube link, we were awed by the gorgeous, psychedelic Western scene and got to work right away. Try this blend and “Welcome to the new dawn”: https://youtu.be/WEKYb80S7lY?si=dSCD9S3ZHxUOydYY
Roast Level in CAPS:
